WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR FIRST VISIT

COMPREHENSIVE EXAM

After Dr. Viccaro or Dr. Lo reviews your x-rays, they will take a close look at your gums and teeth. If they notice any potential issues, they will help you understand exactly what is going on, and how best to address it. It is our goal for you to stay informed so you can feel confident about making the right decision for your oral health.

Thorough Cleaning

Your dental hygienist will thoroughly clean your teeth, removing any plaque and tartar that may have accumulated. This includes flossing and scraping off plaque that has built up under the gum line with either water or an ultrasonic cleaner. Your teeth will be left feeling polished and refreshed.

NECESSARY X-RAYS

Depending on how long it’s been since your last dental x-rays, Dr. Viccaro or Dr. Lo may take new x-rays. Dental x-rays are a useful tool to help us detect problems that may not be visible to the naked eye. Dr. Viccaro or Dr. Lo will be able to see any problem areas such as cavities or infections, cracks in the tooth enamel, and make a recommendation from there.

Once you’re approved for treatment, we will take scans or impressions of your teeth to ensure your Invisalign trays fit perfectly. When your aligners arrive at our office, you’ll come and pick them up to begin your treatment.

Dr. Blalock grew up on a beef cattle farm in Crossville, TN. The time he spent working on the farm taught Dr. Blalock valuable problem-solving skills and a good work ethic. After Dr. Blalock suffered a dental injury when a cow’s hoof contacted his teeth, his dentist repaired his smile and sparked a fascination for the art of dentistry. Because of that experience, Dr. Blalock realized his calling was to become a dentist. He loves that dental work gives him the ability to work creatively with his hands while interacting with patients and making a positive impact on their lives.

Dr. Blalock graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tennessee Tech University with an undergraduate degree in health science biology. He went on to graduate with honors from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry
